Skycatchers become Scrapcatchers

When the going gets rough, get out quick! It is alleged that over another $10 million was written off by Cessna, when their Skycatchers failed to attract customers.

Production was stopped in July 2012 , and now the 66 unsold fuselages (i.e. 22% of total production) are being scrapped .

A sad episode in Cessna's long and unblemished record. Was this why Textron aggressively renamed the brand around that time?

We will feature a complete review in our next January 2017 AMCAR (photo with thanks to AVWeb).
